David was an excellent instructor. His calm demeanor made the learning process much less stressful, and his feedback was clear, practical, and easy to apply. I hadn’t driven in over 10 years and had no prior driving experience in the U.S. however, I was able to pass the San Mateo test on the first attempt thanks to his guidance.
I would also strongly recommend the test day support package for international drivers who need access to an insured vehicle and CA licensed adult for the exam.

I can’t thank Teresa enough for taking me to my Daly City drive test. We drove around the DMV before checking in, waited in line for two hours, braved some rain, and made it back in one piece.
I was nervous on the way to the DMV, but Teresa assured me that I had the skills needed to pass the test. And I did pass! (04/01/2026)
David is an amazing instructor. He’s calm, direct, patient, personable, and understanding. I had my first lesson in February 2026 and passed the Daly City DMV drive test in April 2026.
I had planned to take the test in a family friend’s car, but David went the extra mile (pun intended) and asked the BYAD office if another instructor was available to take me. Thanks, David! (04/01/2026)
Leroy is the best! Anxiety #1: Daughter is learning to drive. Anxiety #2: We could not get Carrie, who is AWESOME and coached our son. We met Leroy briefly when he did a pretest coaching session with our son, so we signed our daughter up with him for a first lesson. My daughter had SO MUCH FUN and LOVES DRIVING! Driving instructors are special kinds of angels, doing things few of us can do. I’m thrilled that our daughter has been flourishing and looks forward to practicing with us. Leroy shares tangible tips that our daughter shares with us. SO GRATEFUL for all of his enthusiasm, patience, and expertise. (03/30/2026)
