I was incredibly anxious at the start of my first lesson, but Carrie had me relaxed and on track to become a confident, safe driver within the first thirty minutes. I never felt judged or embarrassed to be learning as an adult. I ended up doing three regular lessons and a DMV test practice lesson to get comfortable around the Santa Clara DMV where I later took my driver’s test. And then, I passed on my first try!

I once thought I would never be able to drive comfortably with all my anxieties, so I am forever grateful to Carrie for providing the encouragement and guidance I desperately needed. Now, thanks to her, I look forward to driving. She really was more than just an instructor; she was real and so personable from the very first lesson. The two hours always felt so short because I was so comfortable with her, when before I used to dread driving. Truly, if you want someone who will guide/teach you effectively and crack jokes with you too, Carrie’s got you.

Again, I could not see myself passing this test on the first try without all the support Carrie and the Bay Area Driving Academy have provided me. (8/31/26)

Forest is such an amazing instructor. Her bubbly, fun personality really made it easy to connect with her and get out of my shell. She is always cracking jokes and making me feel so at ease when driving. I would 101% drive again with her. Thanks to her I was able to pass my drivers test and I’ve never felt so better! I had Forest as my instructor about like 7-8 times and throughout those classes she was awesome and so supportive! She is so downed to earth and honestly the best instructor I’ve ever had. Her calm and funny personality makes driving so easy and she is just a reliable, trusting person. I 100% recommend her if you are a first time driver, the atmosphere that she makes in the car is hilarious and honestly makes you want to come out of your shell. I passed my drivers test on the 2nd try and it’s all thanks to her and what she’s taught me! (7/31/2026)

David was an excellent instructor. His calm demeanor made the learning process much less stressful, and his feedback was clear, practical, and easy to apply. I hadn’t driven in over 10 years and had no prior driving experience in the U.S. however, I was able to pass the San Mateo test on the first attempt thanks to his guidance.

I would also strongly recommend the test day support package for international drivers who need access to an insured vehicle and CA licensed adult for the exam.
