Academy Driving Instructor David
Instructor David is now one of our most seasoned professionally licensed driving instructor that joined us back in 2019. David is currently a full-time student studying Computer Science at San Jose State University. He has additionally attended courses at Skyline College in San Bruno. He comes to us with over 5 years of customer service experience with major nation-wide retailers. In his professional experience, David has provided consulting and training to both clients and co-workers. He is also a free-lance professional photographer.
He grew up in the Bay Area and is a graduate of South San Francisco High School, thus making him highly familiar with Bay Area roadways. Our students are enjoying his youthful insights for training and find him to be positive, a detailed communicator, and very dependable.

David was an excellent instructor. His calm demeanor made the learning process much less stressful, and his feedback was clear, practical, and easy to apply. I hadn’t driven in over 10 years and had no prior driving experience in the U.S. however, I was able to pass the San Mateo test on the first attempt thanks to his guidance.
I would also strongly recommend the test day support package for international drivers who need access to an insured vehicle and CA licensed adult for the exam.

David is an amazing instructor. He’s calm, direct, patient, personable, and understanding. I had my first lesson in February 2026 and passed the Daly City DMV drive test in April 2026.
I had planned to take the test in a family friend’s car, but David went the extra mile (pun intended) and asked the BYAD office if another instructor was available to take me. Thanks, David! (04/01/2026)
